For those that know our crew on a personal level, it will come as no surprise that some of us are really into motorcycles. I was recently made aware of Long Way Round and Long Way Down, two series that follows Ewan McGregor (aka Obi-Wan Kenobi) and his life-long friend Charley Boorman as they traverse the literal globe on their BMW touring bikes. Exhaustion, injury and accidents tested their strength. Treacherous roads, unpredictable weather and turbulent politics challenged their stamina. They were chased by paparazzi in Kazakhstan, courted by men with very large guns in the Ukraine, hassled by the police, and given bull's testicles for supper by Mongolian nomads. So yeah, you should check them out if you get the chance.

Once you paint one thing in your house, everything else looks that much dingier. So instead of a few small painting projects, I'm now doing a full paint refresh inside and out. It's become a time consuming and expensive mania, but a tip from a painter friend is at least helping with costs--most paint stores have a bunch of mistinted or "oops" paints that they sell cheap (like, $5 for a gallon cheap!). If you're not picky on the color, or maybe just feeling adventurous, this is a great option!

It's Binge Season and Netflix knows it. Stranger Things - done. Orange is the New Black - later this month. And right now, we've been hearing so much about a new German series, Dark that we figured why not one more? It's a creepy, mysterious, tangled web of intrigue with a healthy dose of time travel. But a word of advice: watch with subtitles and skip the dubbing.

I'm about to take a trip to Europe and have been busy with booking accommodations and looking up interesting things to check out in the cities I am visiting. Atlas Obscura has been a really great resource.

I’m unfortunately not much of a reader but recently I’ve been spacing out to my grandmother-in-law's new book that she just had published, “Communism Through My Eyes.” It’s an interesting take on how her father experienced life and his view of communism being the best form of government. It’s certainly an interesting read, especially from my point of view as the son of a man who escaped communism to find more opportunity in life!
