How Our Client PLEDGE IT Is Using TDs to Fight Childhood Cancer

We love a good healthy competition, especially when it benefits a great cause. And that’s why Touchdowns for Cancer, a campaign by our new client PLEDGE IT, is the ultimate competition!

Touchdowns Against Cancer (#TAC2016) is a first-of-its-kind program for high school football teams across the nation to unify in the fight against childhood cancer. Each team/school creates their own fundraising campaign with PLEDGE IT, which benefits St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. Fans pledge a certain amount for each touchdown scored during the month of September, which happens to be Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. At the end of the month, all TDs are tallied and donations are collected. Teams, conferences and states will compete to see whose touchdowns raise the most in the fight against childhood cancer. Touchdowns Against Cancer is a partnership between PLEDGE IT and MaxPreps, the leading source for rankings, leaderboards, schedules and scores for high school sports teams and players.

PLEDGE IT is a performance-based fundraising platform used by high school and youth sports teams, colleges and professional teams, pro athletes, individuals and nonprofits to raise funds for sports achievements (think TDs, runs, goals or points scored, miles run, etc.). Their platform is simple, flexible and fun to use, it’s mobile ready, seamlessly integrates with social media and securely accepts payments, making it easy for anyone to create, manage, promote and donate to their fundraising campaigns. And the best part, because it’s so simple and fans love the thrill of the pledge, campaigns typically raise 2x the amount of traditional fundraising efforts! Later, raffle tickets and cookie dough sales! My parents probably still have near-petrified tubs of that stuff in the back of their freezer. What we all wouldn’t have given to use PLEDGE IT back in the day!

We’re working with PLEDGE IT to help spread the word about Touchdowns Against Cancer through paid and social media channels, and helping to optimize content for increased visibility and engagement.
